İsmail Çoban, the former editor-in-chief of the closed Azadiya Welat newspaper, was sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment on the grounds of “introducing prohibited items into the execution institution or detention center”, citing the clippings he had cut and collected from the Özgürlükçü Demokrasi newspaper in the prison where he was imprisoned.
Çoban, who was arrested on the allegation of “membership in a terrorist organization” in April 2018, is being held in Tarsus No 3 T Type Closed Prison.
